    Overview

INVERSEON is dedicated to utilizing the scientific discovery of our founder, Dr. Richard Bond, by using inverse agonism at the beta-2 (β2) receptor to treat obstructive lung diseases through enhanced safety and efficacy of bronchodilators and through the prevention and reversal of mucous cell metaplasia and the associated signs and symptoms of chronic cough.

INVERSEON has identified a subset of β blockers (inverse beta agonists) with pharmacological activity that down-regulate the intrinsic pro-inflammatory constitutive actions of β2 receptors. Our initial targets include obstructive lung diseases marked by chronic cough induced by mucous metaplasia and hypersecretion. Appropriate targets, based on the histopathology, physiology, clinical development pathway, regulatory precedent and commercial opportunity include:

    • Aid to smoking cessation when added to standard of care either alone or as combination product
    • Reducing signs and symptoms of chronic bronchitis with long-term benefits based on follow-up studies
    • Asthma, especially in patients with cough and sputum.

Other conditions, including bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis will also be tested.

INVERSEON holds a proprietary patent position on the use of inverse agonists to treat obstructive lung diseases, using oral or inhaled inverse agonists.
